This is hard...  trying again


I am connected, but until we change some security and privacy settings I will NOT see nor control your machine.  


Step 1 - Apple Menu > System Preferences > Security and Privacy

Step 2 - Within the Security and Privacy system pref > select the Privacy Tab across the top

Step 3 - Click the lock in the lower corner and authenticate

Step 4 - Scroll on the left column to find Accessibility and select it > check the box next to ConnectWise -or- Screenconnect

Step 5 - Scroll further down on the left column to find Screen Recording > and again check the box next to ConnectWise -or- Screenconnect -- and when prompted to Quit Now or Later > choose Later



Step 1 is getting the app downloaded.  Chrome may present the warning of:  not commonly downloaded and may be dangerous and propose you discard.  Instead, look for the arrow icon pointing up and choose to keep.  The open the downloaded app and confirm.


Step 2

Generally, you'll be prompted to open the Security and Privacy Panel > Privacy Tab automatically - but if you click out the prompts you'll need to follow these steps:


  1. Open System Preferences > click on the Security and Privacy panel
  2. within the Security and Privacy panel look for the tabs across the top and select the Privacy Tab
  3. Click the lock in the corner of the window to unlock the Security and Privacy settings - on the username and password prompt authenticate 
  4. then on the column on the left find Accessibility and select it
  5. Next, find either "ConnecWise Control Client" -OR- screenconnect- followed by a string of letters and numbers. - and check the Allow box
  6. On macOS Catalina (10.15 or higher) you also need to allow Screen Recording similar to the steps 4 and 5
  7. After allowing screen recording access, you should see a small window open asking Later or Quit Now - choose later
  8. After allowing screen recording access, you should see a small window open asking Later or Quit Now -c
